From first step to final fit.
Talk and assess
We discuss your symptoms, activities, footwear and goals, then complete a physical foot, posture and movement assessment.
Walk and scan
The pressure mat shows how you load each foot in motion. A precise 3D scan captures the shape of both feet.
Review and prescribe
Your doctor explains the findings and, if custom orthotics are appropriate, selects the device features that suit your needs.
Return for fitting
At your 15 minute fitting, we check the orthotics in your shoes and walk you through a gradual wearing schedule.

Do I need a referral?+
You can book your gait analysis directly. Because benefit plans have different prescription and reimbursement requirements, checking your coverage before the visit helps us prepare the paperwork you need.
How long is the first appointment?+
Your gait analysis is booked for approximately 45 minutes. It includes a history, physical foot and posture assessment, dynamic pressure analysis and a three dimensional scan when custom orthotics are appropriate.
What happens at the fitting?+
When your orthotics arrive, you return for a 15 minute fitting. We check the fit in your shoes, review how to introduce them gradually and answer questions about wear and care.
Are custom orthotics covered by insurance?+
Most extended health plans cover the full cost of custom foot orthotics. We provide the assessment records, prescription information and supporting paperwork you need to submit your claim directly to your insurer.
What should I bring?+
Bring the shoes you wear most often, any athletic or work footwear you want considered, your insurance information, and a current prescription if your plan requires one.
What if an adjustment is needed?+
Fit and comfort are reviewed with you. The Orthotic Group provides warranty support, and our team can arrange eligible adjustments when required. Specific warranty terms depend on the device and concern.
